<The unseen matrix>
Matrix of Domination is a theory written by Patricia Hill Collins in black theory, It describes how multiple interlocking systems of oppression—such as race, gender, class, sexuality, and other social categories—interact to shape people's experiences of privilege and marginalization.
This is a folded poster I created for an exhibition during my work for the Boston Center for the Arts earlier this year. The exhibition, called "Duty-Free Paradise," plays on the tensions between the lived and imagined Hawai‘i.
